Ajoke Alonge is a retired Medical Social Worker and community advocate with nearly three decades of professional experience in social welfare, healthcare support services, disability advocacy, and community development. Her career includes service with the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs, Community Development and Social Welfare as well as the Department of Medical Social Services at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, one of Nigeria's foremost teaching hospitals.

Throughout her professional journey, she provided psychosocial support to patients and families, supervised social work students and interns, coordinated multidisciplinary interventions, participated in professional training and mentoring programs, and held leadership responsibilities within hospital-based social work services. Her work focused particularly on supporting vulnerable individuals, promoting access to healthcare and education, strengthening family and community support systems, and advancing opportunities for persons with disabilities.

In addition to her institutional responsibilities, she has devoted significant time to public education, mentoring, advocacy, speaking engagements, and community-based initiatives designed to improve the lives of underserved populations. Her commitment to service, inclusion, and human development continues through her writing, public advocacy, leadership activities, and the work of the JokeAlonge Disability Rights & Empowerment Foundation (JADREF).
